Our youth programs help teens establish the eating and exercise habits that they need for healthy, happy lives. The problem of childhood obesity in the United States has grown considerably in recent years. Unhealthy weight gain due to poor diet and lack of exercise is responsible for over 300,000 deaths each year according to research. Researchers estimate that children and young adults may have a shorter life expectancy than their parents if the obesity epidemic is left unadressed.

Young people need to understand the connections between good food, health and exercise. They also need help in resisting peer pressure and advertising that pushes them towards fast food and other unhealthy eating. Our program teaches young people about how to plan and cook healthy, delicious food. We make sure that the teens have the information, skills, and support they need to be fit and healthy.
